Project 1A

The first project focused mainly on researching about our site. We were tasked with conducting a thorough site analysis and base it around a specific theme for our site.

We chose Diversity, Inclusivity and Connectivity

Based on these topics we prepared presentation boards outlining the key aspects of the site in the form of a SWOT analysis.

Understanding the site is crucial in every project. P1A gave us the knowledge we needed to proceed with P1B and P1C.

Project 1B

Based on our site research in the previous assignment, we had to design a small structure to go along with the same narrative.

Our design was a small resting space situated near the playground and the basketball arena for parents to rest as they watched their kids play.

The structure had excellent tectonics in the form of wood joinery and multi use components for book storage and painting exhibitions.

Project 3

After understanding the site with our previous tasks. We were now to design a community center catering for the site users and to address the most important issues to be fixed in the site.

for me I chose to address the disconnection between the different age groups so to design a space that promotes intergenerational activity.

Self Reflection

This semester the final project was more challenging as there were more factors to consider. But overall the challenge was great.

Learning Experience

This semester taught us more about empathy in design which is an essential skill.

Tutor and Module Coordinator

Ms.Sze Ee the module coordinator carried out the module very smoothly.

My tutor also Ms.Sze Ee guided me throughout the projects helping me achieve my design. Her input pushed me in the right direction and she always gave motivation and words of encouragement.

TGC

From the TGC qualities both interpersonal and intrapersonal skills were learned as we had projects which were individual and group. Disicipline specific knowledge was also acquired as the projects included many concepts and techniques used in the field
